Kobayashi’s first published volume was the non-horror title Ochame na Combat* (お茶目なコンバット), part of Asahi Sonorama’s Sun Comics - Strawberry series.

Kobayashi has also written a number of ladies’ comics published by Shufu to Seikatsu Sha (主婦と生活社).  Fight!* (ふぁいと！) was published under the Missy Comics L label, and the following were published as Missy Comics:

• Neppuu Nadeshiko (熱風撫子)
• Yamaneko Pirates* (山猫パイレーツ)
• Tenshi no Scandal* (天使のスキャンダル)

Kobayashi has since changed her pen name to Usako Yamada (山田うさこ).  Under this name she did the art for the comic computer manual Manga de Wakaru Chiisa na Kaisha no Hanbai, Shiharai, Suitou Kanri (まんがでわかる小さな会社の販売・ 支払・ 出納管理), written by Yasuhiko and Yasuo* Sugiyama (杉山靖彦・ 靖夫) and published by CYBiZ (サイビズ).  Yamada has also written some children’s novels, Houkago Sweets (放課後スイーツ), from Mitu Shobou (蜜書房); and Omakase Tenshi-gumi! (おまかせ☆天使組！) 1-4, illustrated by Yuchi Miyakawa (宮川由地) and published by Poplar Publishing.
