Hyakki Yakou Shou was a finalist for the Grand Prize of the 9th Tezuka Osamu Bunka-sho awards in 2005. The series has also been released electronically by Asahi Shimbun.
V.14 of the Asahi Comic Bunko edition appears to be a special release in celebration of the series reaching its 100th installment. It is not apparent when or whether a v.12 or a v.13 of this edition will be published, although apparently v.14 can also be considered as a continuation of the earlier Sonorama Bunko release.
The Best Selection contained reproductions of earlier stories chosen by the author and a reader poll. There were also two associated art books from Asahi Sonorama, both rereleased with an additional third volume by Asahi Shimbun Publications, a drama CD from Movic (ム−ビック), a live-action video series released by VAP (バップ), and a volume of side stories, Ojiro to Oguro (see below).
Tongli (東立) published the series in Chinese, with the title read Bai Gui Ye Xing Chao. It was licensed for English translation under the title Beyond Twilight by Aurora Publishing. Doki-Doki / Bamboo Edition is releasing the series in French as Le cortège des cent démons.
