J. Sheridan Le Fanu

A classic gothic novelist; his Carmilla is considered one of the fundamental vampire stories.  It was loosely adapted into a Japanese setting by Miyuki Saga (さがみゆき) in Kyuuketsu Shoujo Carmilla* (吸血少女カーミラ).  The adaptation was also rereleased under the title Yuurei Yakata no Hanayome no Chi* (ゆうれい館の花嫁の血).
